• Customer service skills such as answering the telephone, photocopying and laminating, basic computer skills, organise social SBHQ participant social events and outings, and practice working in front reception.

• Working with our social media, graphic design, and marketing experts to create and publish social media posts, sales campaigns, practice computer and artistic skills, and create brochures and posters.

• Participate in daily group sessions to improve your employment readiness skills. This includes preparing your Resume, learning how to dress, practice answering interview questions, learning how to act at work, and exploring what job you would like.

• Learn money handling, budgeting, do the banking, practice sales skills, and how to engage with customers.

• Work in furniture restorations by cleaning, sanding, painting, carpentry, and building furniture, as well as making your own woodwork, toys, and arts/ craft.

• Work with our drivers and delivers by picking up and delivering furniture and supplies, and making sure that the showroom of furniture is perfect.

• Learn and practice independent living skills using real-life examples: learn how to do your washing, make your bed, choose your clothes, practice your own hygiene, and how to keep your home tidy.

• Practice your cooking. All meals at SBHQ are provided for all participants, and these are prepared by participants. So you will practice how to plan meals, do up shopping lists, do up a budget, go shopping with your support workers, then prepare and serve meals and snacks for each other.

• Learn about healthy habits, including attending exercise classes, learning what foods are healthy, and how to manage your own physical and mental health and wellbeing.

• Enjoy drawing, painting, leatherwork and pottery by making your own items, as well as creating items for sale.

• Learn photography and design by photographing the items for sale, and promoting them online.

• Get out and about by coming with us to one of the theme parks, or other fun recreational activity.

• Everything is done as part of a supportive and friendly group, so all the while you will improve your social and relationship skills. Join us for one of our weekly barbecues or social events!
